I have had my westie for a month and she has settled in so well and we love her to bits , but these past three nights she starts yelling at the top of her voice and boy has she got a voice!.She has a box in her run so she can go to the toilet which she uses regularly, plenty of water and a comfortable bed, she can see my other dogs so she is not lonely,I cannot leave her to bark as she wakes the whole house up.some mornings I have to get up for work at 5.30am so having to see to her at 4am is wearing me out, any ideas please?

I'm no expert, being a new "mum" myself, and I'm sure someone with a lot more experience will be able to give you more advice, but how old is your westie, and is the run in or out? If she can see the other dogs but not get to them, is it possible that could be part of the problem? Also, might be worth having a peep at the thread below by heidelberg. I wonder if the birds are going loopy with the clocks going back and waking everyone up??!! :)
Thanks for the reply, my westie is 13wks old, she is in a run with the dogs near her, she has to be kept in a run because I have 13year old GSD who is very wobbly on her legs and I dont want the puppy to get squashed, actually last night she did sleep a bit longer, I got up at 5am gave her some food and shut her in her cage, she went back to sleep for an hour and a half, Ithen got up to get ready for work, I do wonder if she is hungry, I have had trouble with her pooing which was very loose but is now better, I was feeding her too much which caused that problem, so I will give her a little feed when I go to bed and see if that works.Anyway I have a few days off work now so I wont mind getting up to her if needs be.
