It's very sad that a superb technological feat of engineering is being pensioned off. My hubby flew on concorde about 12 years ago on a 'pleasure business' flight. Although the cost of flying was too high for the majority of us, I always stopped and stared when I saw Concorde flying. The last time I saw it was just after we had taken our eldest son to Heathrow. We went around the perimeter and stopped to watch Concorde coming directly overhead to land. I had to put my fingers in my ears and all the car alarms were set off around us. But it was still breath-taking.
