I have just homed a 5 year old staffordshire bitch, I know the past owner and have had the dog just for weekends for the last 3 months, but when I took her to the vets for micro chipping he suggested that I should not try to intergrate her with other dogs as at her age it was to late.
When out walking she ignores other dogs even when they come over to her, I have had other rescued dogs in the past, but not a Staffordshire, I would like her to learn to play with other dogs.
Could anyone with experience of older Staffordshires give me some advice

Personally I would NOT do as your vet says unless she has shown signs of aggression towards other dogs which does not appear to be the case in this instance. Stopping her from meeting other dogs can cause more problems. Have you considered taking her to classes?
