I think I've got her twin brother (as it were!).

I've a 12 week old Shiba Inu that is exactly the same. Sometimes he can be an absolute angel - licking my hand and being really sweet but other times he's like the devil himself!

I've tried the no, off, ouch and it doesn't work either. I tried holding him on his back (to show I was the dominant one a la books) but he just attempted to savage my hand even more!! We've now got a "time-out" area (near the front door with a baby gate to stop him getting through and nothing he can chew), we put him there for 3 minutes last night and then let him out (he tried to jump up and nip my hand) so he went in there for 5 minutes (he was OK for 10 minutes then he tried to bite again) so back in for 10 minutes and he was as good as gold!...OK, he did ignore me for the rest of the night but he was a wee sweetie this morning - hardly any jumping up and no bitting so fingers crossed...now only lead training, sitting in the car without screaming the place down etc. etc....

Going to a socialisation class on Thursday so that WILL be fun (not!).

So if you work out a fool proof way of stopping your little darling turning into psychomutt then please let me know!!

Hi,
We have a 4 month old border terrier who had exactly the same problems (note the word had!!).
He was a real little moster and seemed completely uncontrollable at that age. No amount of ouching or ignoring worked - it only made him worse. The only thing that helped was isolating him for a couple of minutes when he was naughty.

He's now 4 months and teething, so he's started up a little bit again, but he's nowhere near the moster he was.

Good luck!
