I am looking to buy a Labrador and have been told to ask if its has a Hip Scoring and eye Certificate, the problem is i do not know what the certificate looks like, is there anywhere that i can get a sample certificate so that if i see one i know its legitimate Thanks G

If the sire and dam have been hip scored and eye tested the results will be on the puppies registration certificates. If the forms you see and the details and dates (ynless a very recent eye cert is shown) should match.

the Hip Scoring report is Green, and the eye one is white.

If you go on the BVA website onto canine health schemes you may find more details.

i've just had my bitch's eyes tested i can send it on an attatchment on an email if you want,if you give me your email address i'll send it to you:)

When you have your dogs eyes checked every year the vet will stamp the dogs 'registration document' and also give you a certificate.
For hips.. The Breed Mean Score for Labs is 16 total. Hips are scored from 0-52 on each hip, so a score under total 16 is desirable. All other relatives should be done also, not just the parents.

The results of both tests are published on the KC certificates and the dates they were done.

Do you mean Registration Certificate? Eye testing is stamped & signed by the Vet at the time of examination but hip scores don't appear - not on mine anyway!
Oh, on the puppies' certificates. Sorry. :o
