Hiya,
I am a complete amatuer at this but I have researched and have sought advice from our vet and decided to mate our staffies. The only thing im not sure on is how and when to contact the KC to register new pups. We're almost certain our bitch is with pup but are having a scan to confirm on Monday, do I need to do anything this early to ensure a hassle free registration?
Thanks for your help.
Nicky

Hi Nicky,
You won't be able to register the pups until after they're born. Most people wait until the litter is about 2 weeks old, to be sure of the final number to register, and more sure of their colour (depending on breed) etc.

Why don't you register with us? You may have more questions to ask in the not-too-distant future.
:)

Thanks Jeangenie,
Ive registered because its true even the most prepared of people cannot go without advice from people who have survied the whole having pups experience. Obviously I have Staffs, what dogs do you have and have you any gems of knowledge that may help me in the future when whelping occurs?
Thanks for your help
Nicky

hi nicki,
as jeangenie says you dont need to do anything at the moment, wait till the pup's are born, and then you can register i normally register my pup's when there about 4 week's it normally only takes about a week for the paper work to come back ,so you will have them in time to give to new owners, when they go to there new homes.
you could at the moment be thinking of some kennel club names for your pups, you will need two names for each pup,1st and 2nd choice.
you can also download a registration doc from the kennel club site.
