I have been asked by a colleague to inquire as to whether anyone knows if there is a register of professional dog walkers? The person concerned would like a dog walker, but is concerned that just anyone could respond and she'd have little check on the quality of their care, other than references.

I'm in Aberdeenshire, but the dog concerned is in Glasgow.
But the vets is a good idea, I'll suggest it to Jules.
Thanks

We looked into Dog Walkers UK & they seemed very professional, though we never took them up. They did seem a little pricey though. It seems the vets and pet shops route are the best to get reliable people with references from other clients.
Good Luck with your hunt. Jabba

Yes...The National Association of Registered Petsitters... everyone is registerd and insured. I am a member and find the organisation to be very good. You have to supply refs. ( relating to pet care/training etc ), to become a member and I can vouch for the fact, that they do take them up.
