hi to you all,can anyone shed any light on a situation,i am a tenant and have lived in my rented house for 25 yrs it is a sought after location where alot of the people are a cut above the rest.the problem is that i am an animal lover and have 6 small breed dogs.yes it sounds drastic but they are kept under control,my garden is at least 200ft long and i have a 50x50ft dog run which cost £3000 to build, they are kept outside during the day and in the house on the night,my dogs have the occasional bark but nothink drastic like battersy dogs homebut my neighbours will not leave them alone because they dont like dogs,i understand that living in a residential area you have to keep noise to a limit in which i do,when the postman comes etc and the dogs give a bark i simply tell them no more and they stop.my neighbours have now drawn a petition up against me and i am to appeal in court for repossession of my house.i can count a few barks in a day (none nightly)which lasts for a few seconds till i tell them to stop,i have asked the council for noise monitors to be installed which has not yet been the case.can anyone advise me where to go from here.the housing association have said there is no limit to how many animals you own as long as they dont cause disturbances.

I fail to see how they can take action without evidnce. So if there is no proof (your neighbours saying they are noisy is not proof) then they cannot do anything. Usually with noise claims a diary has to be kept then if the noise continues they send out monitors to the complainants to provide the evidence they need to prove the case.
I know of someone who was told their dogs were a problem in the end they wrote a letter to the council saying that unless evidence can be provided to prove the claims of noise nuisance they did not want to hear further or a claim for harrassment will be raised against them. They never heard another word!

What Jesse has said is very true, unless they have evidence that can prove your dogs are noisy there is nothing to worry about, they will not be able to act just on what your neighbours say there has to be proof.

Hi there i truly sympathise i have 8 dogs bloodhound, staff, pomeraniansand chihuahuas and as yours do mine bark if the postman comes or somebody knocks.I never let them out before 9 in the morning and they are never allowed out after8.30 at night.i mean to play not to have a wee.But some of my neighbours stop me in the street and tell me how they heard my dogs barking in the garden at 7.30 in the morning or they hear them barking to come in at 10 at night.Which is total rubbish. But next door have 1 staff that makes more noise than mine put together from 7 in the morning till 10 at night. But no one can understand that its not my dogs. They just target you if you have more than one dog.Well now when they stop me and moan well i just laugh at them tell them to get a grip or do something about it.Some people have nothing better to do than whinge. You tell them to go for it do there moaning or shutup.Bit drastic but it works just bugs me when people moan but its not even my dogs!!!
