Can anybody tell me if the size of a bitch's belly when in whelp is any indication as to how many pups she will have , my bitch is 5 1/2 weeks into pregnancy and quite big ,when I had her scaned the vet only saw 2 pups.

I don't think it soes, as my bitch recently seemed prettty big, and only produced 4 live and one stillborn pup, and her mother who is a smaller bitch with her first litter produced 9 and didn't look huge. Both bitches had pups of a similsr size give an ounce or two.
