Hello all.
I was wondering- how much does vaccinations, spaying, microchipping and any thing else like that will cost on average for my bitch.
Also- will the breeder pay for some of these? thankyou for your help.

Hi

In response to your message, it would depend upon what age your puppy will be when you pick it up. As our last litter were 8 weeks old when they left, they had received the first injection, which we paid for. Some breeders will micro-chip, others dont. Costs will vary depending upon the area you are in - I would suggest that you contact local vets for a rough idea of these costs.

I would be very surprised to learn of any breeders that would pay for the spaying/nuetering of a puppy.

Don't forget to add to your costs the cost of insurance - and again this can vary. Phone around the insurance companies for quotes.

Having a puppy certainly isn't cheap - the initial purchase price is just the beginning.......

And you do have to feed them. Replace the chewed furniture, knickers and shoes. Forget about the garden and stop being houseproud. Why the hell I am just embarking on number 4 I have know idea, may be the stories about being mad are all true.

Hi Guest,
It is unlikely that a breeder will pay for many, if any, of these requirements. Very many pups are homed before they are old enough for their first injection, so the cost of that would be down to the new owner. (If the breeder has had the first injections done, very often the cost is added to the price of the puppy). These vet costs vary from area to area, but roughly allow £100 for the course of injections and worming etc (may be less), microchipping about £20, spaying when old enough (at about a year of age) about £100, depending on breed ............

Of course the worming costs and vet checks will continue all the dog's life, on top of all the other costs ....

Also depends where you live, English prices esp London are higher than Scotland etc.
Are you in employment also because there are alot of schemes to help with spaying etc.

My vet charges £41.00 for vaccinations, £20 for microchipping and then it's not too much for worming etc.

I think i'm going into a terminal depression.... just realised that Vinnie Beau & Loki are due for their jabs, plus Vinnie & Beau are going for hip testing soon, plus I need to buy some new vet bed PLUS I've just bought a mega-lot of wormers PLUS I'm just about to start doing accounts & willl find out how much it has cost to enter all the shows we've don :( :(

...Maybe that's why I'm still working...........

Plus of course Buster the Rasta-cats little "op" PLUS his wild ones' ops (when I can catch them!).......

I owe, I owe, so off to work I go.........

Britney's first lot injections cost me £25 for the 3, not from my usuall vet I phoned about, used my usual vet for kujoe and they charge £42 I know where I will be going next time, it is a little further than my vet but not £17 worth of petrol > I had her microchipping done at Pets at Home and that was £9.99 on an offer that they had at the time for the Hipscoring and Elbow's we travelled up to north yorkshire to a recommended vet that cost £191, the next is doppler heart testing if anyone know's the cost, I would love to know how much about it should cost

When we were looking at prices for jabs we rang round the local vets. I ended up getting a puppy pack for £65. For that we got injections, microchip, 6 months worming tablets, a couple of packs of frontline, 4 weeks insurance (we already had the breeders 6 weeks insurance so that meant he was double covered lol) & a bag of Eukanuba. Its definately worth ringing round though.

I paid £42 for vaccinations which incuded check up and follow up appointment, £20 for microchipping with 2nd set of vaccs (or £30 without vacc aswell), £10.59 per month insurance, £60 in unexpected vet fees during first month I had her and the initial cost of bed, bedding, cage, bowls, lead , collar, toys, books and the cost of the pup herself......it is costly but well worth it as you get so much pleasure and love from them.

When i get a new dog.
I pay £21.72 for each innoculation, primary course and booster. Microchipping is £20. Insurance is £20 per dog per month. Wormer ranges from £5 to £22 depending on the age and wieght of the dog and whether i get it from the vet or the wholesalers. I crate train so £80 per crate plus £8 per crate for vet bedding. Then £60 per month food bill for all the dogs per month. Books were £45 for six, special offers on amazon. Bowls and stands £30. Collar £5 - £10 depending on age of dog. Lead (equestrian lead line 5ft) £3.50.
There are extras on top but that is my initial outlay.
Looking at it i must be mad! I have my fourth and fith coming over the next 18 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont forget, the price of redecorating, when your puppy has scratched and eaten the walls and new carpets.
