Hi Jackie,
Haven't heard from you in ages. How did you get on? How is Sydney doing generally? It's nice to see you're still a Champdogger! Lola isn't old enough to show yet. The training has come to a bit of a halt at the moment as I'm nipping up and down the M1 every weekend as we have some family illness. During the week I'm busy doing my school work. Hope all is well

I have deleted my previous post as it seems that people have taken out of context what I have written and started malicious rumours.
Sydney does not have any diseases and people should get their facts right before making slanderous remarks about my pup’s lineage.
If everybody who cut their dogs nail to short had a rumour spread about them where would we be.
Sorry to say I shall not be visiting this forum in future. To all those who I chatted to best of luck and perhaps will see you at the shows to those others GOODBYE!!

I've got afriend coming from Spain but if he leaves in plenty of time I might just pop down as it's 15 minutes down the road. What's your dogs KC reg. name?

Hi Jacky
Sorry to hear this. I'm not sure what has been going on as I haven't been here for a while, but if you want to e-mail me, please do so, I would love to hear how Sydney gets on. Best of luck to you both.
Bev
Hi Bev
I don't know what has been going on here but if Jacky has left because Dawn asked if she had had Sydney vWD tested then surely that is a bit OTT?
vWD testing should, in my opinion, be compulsory before anyone breeds Dobermanns - we have the chance to eridicate this disease by judicious breeding and without decimating the gene pool so no more affected Dobes ever need to be produced and this is not anything to get defensive about (unless you are deliberately breeding any pair that does not include at least one clear of course).

Jacky left because of the rumours that began AT SHOWS due to posts on this forum..Jacky's dog DOES NOT have VWD
and I really hope that this
"this is not anything to get defensive about (unless you are deliberately breeding any pair that does not include at least one clear of course)."
isn't implying what I think it is
Gary
Hi Gary
I was not referring to Jackys' dog as I had not seen what was going on just that she had decided to leave the forum and that Dawn had asked whether Sydney had been tested and do not want anyone to think that vWD results are anything to be hidden or not discussed. I am surprised to hear that Jacky left because of something that happened at a show and not directly on the board.
The status of a Dobermann is irrevelant and I have tried very hard to get people to test, and for the results to be out in the open so as to avoid any aspect of "witch hunt". If you are a Dobe owner you are probably aware of this and the testing scheme we now have set up with the KC/DBC. As you may know I maintain the database of vWD results and publish them in the Stud Book and elsewhere (when owners have given permission in the past)
Unless you specify I do not know what you think I am implying so you may need to elaborate. I repeat my oft stated opinion - having a dog with vWD is nothing to be ashamed of - unless of course you have bred any pair that does not contain at least one Clear. Having said this vWD is only one aspect of picking suitable parents and there are many other things to be taken into consideration.

Hang on a sec Gary, NOBODY has implied ANYTHING. It was Jackie herself that said Sydneys gums started bleeding and the Vet could offer no explanation for it, and it was she that said when she cut his nails, her kitchen was like a "slaughter house" Now both of these things "could" be related to VWD, I had a Dobe with it and BOTH of those things in him were symptomatic. People on here were trying to offer her an outlet for her to explore, a possible explanation, I know if my dog was "off colour" as Jackie said and showed other symptoms too, I would only be too pleased that people had the decency or the concern to offer me some advice.
Dawn.

Hi Jackie (if you're still there)
I too have been away for a while and i don't know what has been going on. I enjoyed our chats earlier in the year during my Dobe search. I hope you'll contact me by email. I hope Sydney is doing well. Did I see his name in this weeks Dog World? I remember he's Bushwacka!! I'm really sorry if you've left.
Annie :)
