Hello,

Never took taz to any training classes. Trained him myself.
He is excellent with basic commands such as sit, stay, lie down, off, paw, give, KISSES, fetch etc etc.
He is walked every day, has hundreds of half eaten toys. A kong which gets filled once a day to amuse. I am concerned that he may need more stimulation, will be having one of his pups after xmas so i am hoping that will stimulate him more.
He does not show signs of boredom etc but i wonder could i do something more?
Would it be worth taking him to training classes to learn anything new. Don't know what else he could learn, but do you think this would be benificial. He is 18 months is this too old?

What about doing agility, heelwork to music or clicker classes? They stimulate him, and it's fun for you as well. Well, I suppose that depends on what you consider fun!
It's good socialisation to take him to any sort of training class, and just being in that environment with all the smells and new sights will be loads of stimulation for him.

Hello Raffystaffy
Why not join a training club hes by no means too old ,our oldest is 7.Go through the kc good citizen awards.apart from what he already knows you'll learn sendaways, distance control, heelwork, out of sight down stays and scentwork.Agility would be good at his age or flyball or you could try tracking .Most training clubs have inter club comps and fun shows you may even pick up a rosette or two.You could also teach him to speak on command .On the play front have you tried hide and seek with his fav toy ,retrieving a very slippy ball from a tub of water and mine goes crazy playing with a spacehopper( dont laugh) get a good strong one though and you could try playing swingball with him too keeps you fit and sends them bonkers.Have loads of fun

Buster loves a space hopper, the first one was an old one and he quickly destroyed it, but his second one is still going strong! Nicki

Mariab, If you do a search on google in the images tab you'll find there's loads of pictures of them there. Sparky has one too - great fun!

This has nothing to do with what you're asking, but what do you put in the Kong for the dog? I've had one sitting in the cupboard for 4 months as i don't know what to stick in it?

Do you work - if so see if your boss will let him go with you sometimes. If you dont work, he sounds like a good candidate for a PAT dog.
