Hello all,
wonder if anyone can help?
does anyone have any ideas on this one please ?
My friends dobe has had some strange reaction to something, she told me:-
'He started getting spots at the weekend -I frontlined him and gave him some piriton but they've got alot worse I took him to the vet on Monday and she said it looked like an allergy to something he'd eaten -now the only thing was his food ( a new batch of Dr johns ) so I stopped his food and have put him on chicken and rice and he is on antihistamines
Now these spots have continued to come out -they are everywhere but with a particularly bad patch on his chest and on his rear ( sort of top back of thigh -were his legs join his tackle )
they look like chicken pox spots when they have started to crust over -he's due back at the vets on saturday but I'm not convinced that the anti histamines are working he is lumpy to look at and thoroughly miserable.
We went back to the vet who said it was definatley an ingested allergy and it was obviously still raging so now we have antibiotics and a weeks supply of steroids (medrone) .'
so......
Has anyone experienced this or something similar and can offer advice at all? Ive not personally seen a reaction this bad, it literally covers him all over??
any advice or ideas are most welcome - thanks :)

hi there-hope your dog is ok.i will send some healing vibes for you both.
my dog lenny is covered in lumps at the moment but i think it is lymphoma.a nasty cancer.i am loving her lots and giving her essiac tea, flax seed oil and cottage cheese, vitamin b.
i dont want to scare you(sorry if i did!) but is the vet sure it is a reaction, are the glands swollen.if your not happy with anything get a second opinion.
i havent had a biopsy done on my dog, the vet is adamant its lymphoma.
is he more thirsty than usual? do they scab over and make the surrounding fur all matted?
please let me know how he gets on, hope he's feeling good soon.
love and peace,
tabaluga

Hi - I am responding to the posting regarding the itchy lumps. My pug has recently developed itchy lumps that are now becoming more visible, red and raised little bumps. He is losing little tiny patches of fur - I have researched it and it sounds like a form of mange - demodectic or sartopic. This is the second recurrence - the first time my vet told me it was allergies and I had him on steriods for a week. I have an appointment at the vet tomorrow and hopefully will have an answer. If anyone can add any information, I would appreciate it too. Thanks much!
