Hi there
Please can someone give me some advice my 6 month old staffie she was speyed two days ago (Thursday) everything was fine until today she keeps squatting to go for a wee but nothing is coming out, it is like she thinks she needs to go and has forgot that she has already been.
Also one of her stiches seems to have come loose and she is quite swollen.
I am having trouble keeping her still as she is used to going over the field twice a day for a run with her ball.
Please can anyone tell me if this all normal or not.
She is eating and drinking well and still has loads of energy.
Please help a worried mum.

Hi,
if her wound is swollen at all, and looks even slightly inflamed and damp, it's likely she has an infection in it, and she needs antibiotics sharpish. That could also account for the squatting, though that could also be from the swelling inside pressing on nerves making her feel her bladder is full. Is she licking her wound at all?

hi Jeangenie
Thank u so much for getting in touch, she is not licking and does not seem to know that it is even there.
It has swollen up today so i think that is why her stich has come out and today is when she has started squatting.
I have booked her in to the vets but can't get there till Monday i hope that she will be ok till then.
Thanks again for your time.
