We are about to enter into the hound owning fraternity but have one outstanding, in fact, miriad's of, questions regarding pedigree dogs:

Is it in the domain of the breeder to name the pup prior to adoption; does the breeders name need to be added to the name or is it all the owners perogative?

In the grand scheme of things it is a moot point as the new addition to our family is the most important factor, but it is still important to know in advance.

As I understand it, the breeder usualy chooses the Pedigree/Kennel Club name, including their Affix. As to the pet name of your pooch, you can call it whatever you like, bearing in mind you may have to shout this out loud in a crowded place ;)
