my spanielX phoebe is 4 years old. since being speyed at six months (before her first season) she has had episodes of wetting herself, they come around three/four times a year and usually last for just a day or two and they arrive without warning and are sometimes quite heavy.they are very upsetting for her and me as she sleeps on/in my bed .when it happens she is often very lethargic and sleeps very heavily . has anyone any idea of what is happening to her during these episodes ? she is a little plump but not fat, gets lots of walks and has a whippet puppy as a companion whom she adores. she does suffer from dry eye could this be connected ? can anyone help ?

Hi,
my springer bitch has a similar problem, she is a bit leaky sometimes but occasionally she does a full wee while fast asleep and it lasts for a few days. It was suggested to me that she has a slight kidney infection or cystitis. I now give willow the Denes kidney health tablet, available from pet shops, it helps regulate kidneys, she gets one in her dinner and it seems to have helped.
