Not sure if any of you have tried it but thought I would mention my success and enjoyment so far of doing it.
I have been doing the plan for 4 weeks tonight and reached my first stone tonight. :-)
I am an expert in all the Weight watchers etc but for once I am actually going down the healthy option route and so far so good. I have battled with my weight for a good few years now and for once quite like the principles of the eating plan ( you are hung for calling it a diet) :-)
Pam

Well done you!! That's a real achievement, so be proud.

Hi Pam
I did it quite a few years ago now and I too thought it was very good . You can have plenty to eat as well :)
Do they still have the free foods
Well done by the way :D

Hi Lel,
Yes still the same Green and red or original it is really called. I tend to stick to green but alot of the maufacturers now have come up with food that fits them. M&S for one.
I think it takes a week or 2 to get your head around it but I feel now I am over the first hurdle.
If you see a blond , chubby person walking around M&S with a book it is Me..:-)

Thanks JJ, :-) I thought I would mention it as there will be a few of me out there with the same struggle.
I keep praying at night that God lets me wake up thin and I promise not to do it again but he doesn't listen :-)
They have some online support etc which I find quite good.
I need to really lose about 5 stone though ... 1/2 at a time though.
BFN Pam

I recently discovered that contracting salmonella is a good way to lose half a stone in 5 days - but I wouldn't recommend it.

JJ, I don't think I will try it... thanks though ;-)

Well done Pamela!! That's good going. I rejoined last week and will be going to weigh in this morning and like you I need to lose about 5 stone, problem is I get to a 2 stone weight loss all the time and stop!!
Have done this twice now in the past, but I am determined to do it this time, as I have only put a stone back on out of the two I lost.
Keep up the good work and please keep us updated. You may be able to give me some inspiration!!

HS/Kyrs,
Being honest 4 weeks ago when I went I had no motivation for it at all, when I walked through the door I was saying under my breath " what the heck am I doing here" but being 32 and having swollen ankles for me was the reason. It is only 4 weeks that has passed but I feel I am still on track so will try and plow on.
It is one of the hurdles in my life I cannot get control of, I have a good job, done many a good thing over the last few years and generally quite in control of my life but my weight ...well that has been another story.. my father recently had to have his 2nd leg removed ( 1st one 2 years ago) and I think in the back of my mind this is helping or it should.
I didn't post to boast at all as I know I have a long way to go but we all need encouragement at times eh??
Better get in that shower..:-)

Mrs Doing too much at the sametime.
I think you are doing remarkably well juggling Indigo and the dogs, house etc..I don't know how you manage.. I would forget it just now enjoy your time..
Bless baby Indigo, I love to see little chubby legs on a baby...
We are sadly turning in the "obsessed with our weights nation" which seems to make things worse..

Good for you Pam! Lucy, are you feeding Indigo Miraclegro? She must have such gorgeous chubby knees.....iclkle ickle knees! I met a chap walking his lab in the woods the other day with his baby boy strapped to his front and this babys first word was DOG followed by DAD. Wonder what Indigos will be?

Ok Margot we won't tell anyone :-)
Well done Pam that's really great, there's hope for me then?
I joined SW about 8 weeks ago but due to work stuff etc haven't been keeping it up, we fly off to Crete next Tuesday (Yes I AM boasting) for 2 weeks and intend to go back after then. You are just th emotivation I need, I have 3st to lose and no I don't expect it all to go by Christmas, but by 31st Decemebr 2004 (that give 15 months) as I'll hit 40 and hubs is flying me off to Paris and then throwing a 'suprise' party when we get back ;) (He'd better)
I too have been a life long member of WW never getting to target but never could get my head round SW, but after trying and failing on others this summer (WW again about 3 weeks and GAINED, Carol Vorderman's lasted half a day and Atkins 1 and half days) I decided to try SW and yes after about 3 weeks it made sense but the best thing is the leader isn't stick thin like the WW leaders, she's like us and going through what we go through and understands and yes I can have my cooked breccie on a sunday, yipee.
Keep me up to date, you can be my inspiration
Cheers Fi xxx
I did really well on Slimmers World , lost 21lbs :) put 28lb back on after :( My favourite is the Gin and Tonic diet......... I lost 2 days ;) :D

How clever was that

Well done Pam Ive got the herbal life diet but its arguing with me at the moment :( keep forgetting to take the pills ;) I'd like to start my swimming again but since we moved cant seem to find a place for quuiet time swims in Chorley anyone know? When I swam three or four times a week I was in better shape than now.
By Blue
Date 05.10.03 10:39 UTC

Well Done Cup cake that is excellent. You should be very proud.
Mattie, I share the same problem. I used to swim at least 3 times a week.
I am sticking to the plan though and have now really noticed this week a difference. I think I must be nearing 1 1/2 stone. Although I must stress I need to lose about 5 stone.
I put trousers on yesterday for going to a show and have not had them on since SKC in August, the near fell off with the button up. I wore them anyway as the co-ordinate my other clothes but I had great pleasure in showing a few people.( of course people I know)
I told the steward before the class( who I know quite well thankfully) next time I wear them in the ring if they fall down when I am walking just ignore me but at least it will show it works. He was laughing he said to put a label on my trousers saying " When these fall down the Slimming world works" I was laughing so much.
It is all motivation though..
I think I have struggled more this year with moving and major renovations, having the pups etc and just not getting quite as much walking down etc.. Hopefully now things are coming back into my control I will get back into a routine.

Can you do Slimming world on line? I did Weight Watchers years ago and got to goal. The secret was simple... I didn't eat. Can't repeat that thanks and unsurprisingly my family don't want me to either. Can't think why...I wasn't THAT grumpy....Much!:D
By Blue
Date 06.10.03 08:33 UTC

I think you can, but even if you attend class for weigh in you can use all the on line facilities, Such as the sin counter which I find excellent. It tells you what is free or how many sins in each by product name or manufacturer.
[link] http://www.slimming-world.com/[/link]
It also had quite good recipe archives.

Hi Everyone, well like most of you here i have tried most forms of healthy eating!! Rosemary Conley,Slimming World ,Weight Watchers etc etc,i also have lost a stone at a time (and regained it ,like the lady earlier in this thread sorry forgot your name !)i lead a very busy life and for the most part juggle most things well ....but when it comes to my weight ,well that's a different story (when it seems to colour your whole life ,why do we find losing weight so hard .?...why does willpower fly out of the window? well i reckon you have to feel like you have hit the bottom ,and then the only way is up !! i reached this point last saturday ..my birthday ,i promised myself (last year)as i had a milestone birthday coming up that i would NOT be fat and "F",and guess what i was ....so on the 28th of this month i took MYSELF..off to a new gym(no dont groan this realy is different )..anyone heard of "Curves?" well its women only and i think i have found my Holy Grail..(time will tell )but i feel more motivated than ever before ,three times a week ..circuit training for 30mins,i can hear you all groaning "how do i find 30mins a day to work out .. .well i have been saying that for years(and just carried on getting bigger )well i have had enough of Talking about how miserable i feel , ..and do you know i deserve that 30mins ..hell i spend more than that here ,!this whole concept is so simple ,they give you a great book when you join ..i am learning all sorts of basic healthy eating ideas ,and do you know Slimming world, will fit in nicely...wish me luck ,will let you know how it goes ...Bye Sue & Lola xx p.s. i found light Smackos in Waitrose this morning .....sign of the times ..not that Lola needs to slim lol xx

Hi Pam,what sort of exercise do you do ?the type i am now doing is resistance ..all of the equipment is hydraulic ,so no HUGE weights to move up and down .not even small weights ,they suggest you exercise every other day ,i expected to feel real pain today (first workout yesterday)but feel fine ....keep your fingers crossed ..Bye Sue & Lola xx

HI Sue,
I have in addition to the walking bought a rebounder trampoline from Argos, they are great and so much fun.
I put MTV on or something and get on it and jump about like a maniac.. :-)
It is really great and you just jump on and off as you like.. cheap also.. only need 15 mins of it..

Hi Pam ,i actually had one of those ,and about four years ago we had building work done and it was just one of the many things the builders managed to trash ....!!i read only the other day that they were one of the best pieces of equipment you could use so ..i guess its off to Argos! speak to you soon i'm off to the gym in the morning and my friend wants to come too...!! so until we "speak" again" HAPPY BOUNCING !!"Bye Sue & Lola xx

Date 31.10.03 19:07 UTC
Hi Pam,talking about BOUNCING!! we have just been talking "support bras"when i called into the gym to have a chat !!the lady said if i had half an hour she would show me how to use the equipment ...i said maybe i should wait until i was wearing "support bra "in fact the circuit training ,isnt"TOO manic"(if you know what i mean) !!only those of us who have BOUNCED ....UNFETTERED will know the feeling of panic when the music goes up a few notches !!!!!!!in fact anyone out there that knows of a good S. bra let me know ,the last one i bought cost me a fortune ...and was like wearing a straight jacket ...in fact not only didnt my boobs bounce NOTHING moved, i had problems even breathing !!..........another good thing about this gym..NO MIRRORS .for exactly the reasons i have said ...who wants to see so much going on whilst exercising.....personally i cant wait to see my feet again ....!!! lol ... .. careful Bouncing.!!.. Bye Sue & Lola xx
Well done Pam
I went back last week so first weigh in tomorrow night, fingers crossed, but I have been good MOST of the week. I attend a class in town after work with a colleague, who said to me yesterday, she can't wait to be thin again, so she can spend a couple of years enjoying herself eating and getting fat!!!!!!!
