Hi I have a 12 month old male Irish Staff. I would like to know if anybody else has an Irish staff and also can they be K.C reg ? I am thinking of buying a female staffy, if she is K.C reg and I used both dogs for breeding would the pups be able to be k.c. reg?
No, Irish Staffs can't be KC regsitered to my knowledge, and pups can only be KC registered if both their parents are KC reg, so if you crossed an Irish Staff with a KC reg Staff, you would not be able to register the pups.
As JeanGenie rightly says you would not be able to register the ISBT in the UK and if you bred the two you would not be able to register the litter . Can I ask why you want to breed the two anyway? Lesley
The reason I asked is you either prefer one or the other . They are quite similar but if you wanted a taller athletic looking Staff then why not just stick with the ISBT and breed them??

Sorry I dont mean to upset anyone I was just curious. Is the only difference between them the height and muscle? I am definately getting a female staffy but I wont be breeding.
Just to add to my other post - you can actually get taller looking leaner staffys (although not as tall as an Irish staffy) .Just depends on what lines they come from. And the Irish were originally bred from Staffordshires with well known breeders sending their dogs over .
