Is there anyone out there still breeding the old fashioned GSD with the heavy bone, nice big head, knobbly knees etc that is not a roached backed greyhound type? I do'nt care how far I'd have to travel! Please reply with photo's of your present breeding stock to: AnandaRoullier@aol.com. I am of course searching only for a dog of excellent temperament as my beloved friend if/when I find him will be trained for obedience but above all be a very loved family pet and companion.

What had happened to the companion of the past? All I have seen so far is indeed pale by comparison.

Many thanks.

Think you should add that the breeding stock should have the relevent health tests. IMO more important in a pet than the look of the dog.

Try this link

Can't vouch for the health checks temperaments etc of the dogs as I've only ever had GSDs direct from German breeding for the last 36+ years & the only GSDs I've ever owned have been bred with health temperament etc in mind & there is no mention of Haemophillia testing or hip score on the site

There are a few of the old style breeders out there with the desired health checks and looks that you require if you email me I will send you the phone number of a lady that has a litter due in nov, with health checks already done
