Can anybody suggest good tip bits to use when training

My dal seams to have a slightly delicate stomach

Thanks

Hi Aaron,
James Wellbeloved does treats called "Crackerjacks", they're quite big, but easily broken into little bits. They have no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, also they have no beef, pork or wheat gluten.
These should be O.K for a sensitive tum!

Sarah.

Hi Aaron,
With my dals I use pieces of cheese, or slices of sausage - either cold cooked ordinary sausage, or frankfurter (hotdog) sausage. I've always found those to be digestible.

Plain cooked chicken (roasted adds flavour) seems to work for most dogs. Commercially Nutro make a gluten free Lamb and Rice or Chicken and Rice training treat (sticks which can be easily broken up) they also contain maple syrup and have a wonderful aroma even this human can appreciate :)

I made a liver cake for my "FUSSY" lot yesterday and they devoured it,nearly taking my fingers off:) it's easy to break off into little peices for treats and you can also freeze it in portions, here is the recipe i used: 500g. lamb liver
400g. selfraising flour
2 eggs
1 1/2 cloves garlic
mix everything together in a food processor(i just chopped the liver in the processor,as it's too small to handle flour) mix it thouroughly with your hands, place into a greased pan,pop into 180 degree oven for 30minutes.

Under every recipe of livercake i found on the internet it said that the smell is vile, but mine didn't stink at all.

good luck,i hope you can understand the recipe as i'm hopeless at explaining things in writing;)

fHi Christine does your liver cake keep a while in a tin or does it go off? Mine went mouldy so Ive frozen some in bags. Maybe Im doing something wrong :)

I'm not sure Lorelie,i only made it for the first time and i freezed it straight away i doubt you did anything wrong;) But when i made liver treats,ya know the ones you bake really slowly?they were covered in mould within a week, you must keep these in the fridge,i was so p****d off as it took me ages to slice them up and the house smelt like an abbotoir all day, pheeewie what a stench, and my dogs hardly got any;(

Has anyone elses "livercake" stunk out the house? i had heaps of insence burning, but no livery smell,i should'nt complain tho as i have a weak stomach when it comes to the smell of offal cooking~~

luv

Hi Ozzie,

yep! When I cook liver cake it really smells, especially with the garlic in it!
I make a big batch at a time....2lbs and freeze it in 4oz bags.

Sometimes I leave mine to cool in the oven - it goes hard like biscuits, but keeps much longer, just in a tin.
