I have a very tiny toy poodle she only stands 6" tall at 10 months old but she is a real little stunner from good lines. My friend seems to think she would be considered too small to show, can anybody advise me please on this.

Well the standard says under 11" so in theroy you can, but she is a lot under so I guess she would need to be very good otherwise.

Hi
If your bitch doesn't grow much more then I would guess that you wouldn't get very far in the show ring.Your dog would stand out a mile from the other exhibits but not in the way most people would want.
If its what you want to do theres nothing that says you can't enter as long as she's KC reg so give it a go and if you enjoy the experience maybe you could look to getting a more show standard pup and keep this one as your pet

Poodles are not my breed but most those I see in the ring are near the top of the size range 10" to 11" however you do sometimes see a much smaller dog in the ring and if they are of good quality with good coat the they seem to do ok. So it is worth a try, if only to find out how good others think she is, you may have a cracker on your hands, in which case her size will not matter but if, as is more likely, she is middle of the road you may find that her size will hold her back.

Start by finding a ringcraft club in your area, you may find that the vets or the pet food store will know about that. Or you can write to the Kennel Club and ask for those in your area.
Once you start at the ringcraft club you will find lots of people who will tell you all you need to know about showing and you & your dog will make new friends, you should also be able to pick up schedule (details of what a show offers in the way of classes and judges, time etc.). You can also get 2 papers that are concerned with the dog show world, Dog World and Our Dogs, both carry the same sort of information, some people take both other take the one that suits them best. Order both from your news agent to start with and see which style suits you.
