Helen has e-mailed me and urged me to come on to champdogs to read all the messages of support that you left for me and our daughter Paige,
i cannot thank you all enough for all the beautiful messages that you have left for us,it has touched me deeply. But at the moment there are no words that can comfort the loss i feel,i still have not told Paige,i just dont know how to explain it someone who i feel that is to young to understand. Jane had a true zest for life and was a beautiful young woman, and i mean beautiful in every sense of the word, she was snatched away from me and our daughter in her prime. The family are absolutely devastated, more so are her grandparents, who are at the moment looking after Paige.
I look around this house, and even though she has gone, she is everywhere,so i find being around the house is a great comfort to me.
I keep reading the messages over and over again,i have printed them off now and i will keep them for Paige for when she is older.
I have requested no flowers at her funeral,as she prefered them in the garden,as she said "that is supposed to be where they live and grow",she hated the thought of anything beautiful to die. Silly to some i know, but she was a simple woman who thrived on simple pleasures in life.
I will take the time to register when i get around to it,when i feel ready enough to face the world again. It would be nice to keep in touch with people who i feel she may have helped out,and whose lives she touched.
Again my sincerest thanks to you all, words cannot describe how i feel right now im grateful for all you have said and done, and offered to do.
God bless you all.

I'm so glad we can be of even a little comfort to you, Dean. It is a terrible tragedy for you to have to bear. Bless you and Paige.
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 17.09.03 17:37 UTC
Don't think anyone can comfort you but we do our best to understand, don't worry about your daughter, tell her as it is, children take in what they can cope with and will come back for more information when she feels she can understand. Please stay in touch, we all feel your pain and will hang on in there with you.

My thoughts are with you Dean at this awful time.

Take heart from the fact that Jane lives on in her daughter, and with your help she will become the same kind of person that her mother was and would wish her to be.

Here is a poem that may be of some comfort in the days to come:

"You can shed tear that she is gone or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray she'll come back or you can open your eyes and see what memories she has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see her or it can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she's gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what she'd want, smile, open your eyes, love and go on."

Love to you both

Jayne

Dean - There is nothing we can say that will help you get through the coming days, weeks and months of you and your daughter's lives. But I'm glad, as I'm sure everyone else is, that it gives you some comfort to read about how much Jane was thought off. She was a lovely person who I'm sure helped many people. Be glad that she touched your life.
My thoughts are with you and your family.

It was so kind and brave of you to post your thanks, Dean. I have thought about you and your daughter a lot the past few days - when things like this happen it reminds you of how fragile life is. I pray that you will be given the strength to cope over the coming weeks and months.

It was a real shock to hear about Jane, and you must yourself still be in shock; it was so nice of you to come on here and post your thanks.

Here is a little poem that has often helped me, i find it very reassuring and i hope you will too .....

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Love to you and little Paige

Dean My heartfelt condolences to you ,god bless Mari
- By Kerioak Date 18.09.03 15:35 UTC
Hello Dean

Please accept my condolences . When my daughter died in 2001 I copied all the email messages into a word document and put a pretty border around, printed them out on pastel coloured paper it and then put them in a file having hardly looked at them when the arrived as I could not take them in.

I got the file out a few weeks ago to read for the first time as I was not really ready before, and was pleased (not quite the right word but I can't think of a better one) that I had made it look special rather than just printed it out onto plain paper.

Thinking of you, Paige and your family

Dean, I'm so sorry to hear about Jane. She always struck me as a very open, straight-down-the-line and compassionate person. When I lost my father in a car accident in 1997 I couldn't bear to read any of the messages people had written about him - it was too raw. But it was a strange comfort to realise that he had touched the lives of so many people - as Jane clearly has, across the world.

Look after yourself and your little girl.

Dean, my heart goes out to you and Paige. Take care.

I'm deeply saddened. She was a feisty, gallant lady and there are too few people like that in the world.

I have just come back from holiday and am so sad to read this news. Dean - I am so very sorry. I didn't know Jane personally but I remember thinking what a special, brave and caring person she must be, when she posted that amazing thread earlier in the summer about how you both rescued Cass from whelping alone in a cage. I am so very sorry - these things shouldn't happen. You and Paige will be in our thoughts. Take care, Janet

I am so sorry to hear the bad news. No words can explain how shocked we all are. What a terrible thing to happen. Be strong for Paige and give her a big hug from all the champ dog folk.

I am so very sad to hear this news. I feel so angry at such a loss, I can never understand why. My love to Janes family and friends.
