I have a lovely gsd male who is now 5 months old I would love to take him to proper GSD classes but cannot seem to find any in my area which is Bournemouth in Dorset. The breeder we got him from was veruy helpful but she is based some distance away and so does not know of any in my area any ideas. I am also interested in showing him but I am not sure if ordinary Ringcraft classes are the same as GSD classes? Any help would be gratefully received

Jane, there is the Poole Canine Club which has ringcraft every Wednesday night at the Liberal Hall in Hamworthy at 8pm - not always GSD's there, but sometimes there are. All breeds go to that one. Then the Christchurch and New Forest Canine Club meet on Mondays at West Parley Memorial Hall. I only go the first Monday of the month to the Matches, but all other Monday nights I believe are for ringcraft training, and there certainly are GSD's at the match nights, so I imagine some of them go to ringcraft as well. I'm not sure if it's 7 or 8pm for training, but if you showed up about 7:30 you'd either be early or only a little late.
