What do you use to keep them in good condition and where do you get it, It mentions a good quality leather restorer but is this just leather polish like you buy for shoe's or is it something different.

I use a leather softner/cleaner that i use for my ponies tack which you by from a place that sells horse/pony tack. but i would think that any leather cleaner would do. mustn't have a strong smell or any thing that might sting the eyes.

Just a word of warning with the Dogmatic, my boss has one for her Dobe, and the ring snapped! he pulled towards a Fox that came from the hedge, the ring broke, if it were not for the fact he was attached to another lead aswell, he would of been UNDER the car that clipped the Fox! It has been fixed and I now believe they use stronger rings.

I also use leather softener/conditioner from our local saddlers and it works just fine.

Has anyone else had this problem with the ring snapping, I thought the dogmatic was meant to be safe, I dont use another collar but now I think I will have to if this is a problem with them.

Kocholine from the Saddler in a tin; will last for years and is THE best leather preserver/conditioner around. Work into rough side of leather not dressed side.

Hi
I use Leather Basalm from Tescos as it doesn't smell and keeps it nice and soft. I've had mine for over a year now and it looks good as new. We have never had ANY problems with our Dogmatic and it is the strongest headcollar that we could find. Os snapped the clasp on his Gentle Leader and almost went under a farm truck / lorry so you can be sure that when we got the Dogmatic we had done a lot of research into something strong that would prevent it happening again!
I really recommend them from personal experience.

I love Ko.cao.line (note spelling!:D). I'm not being cheeky, really, It's just if someone wanted to buy it, the correct spelling helps. It's amazing. I use it on all my dogs collars and leads. It not only softens but it also waterproofs. Only problem is, your hands end up in quite a mess!!
I bought leather softener from a tack shop.
As for the rings - they look very strong to me. Most likely was a faulty one. Would have terrified me though!
