I have a three month old black lab, and am noticing that she is not as excited to see me as she is other people(ie - my roommate). Is that because I am the one to do all the training and scolding, and everyone else just plays with her?

Thanks

How do you mean she isnt as excited to see you as the others?

Meaning that when my roommate comes home she runs around and jumps on him. When I come home, she just wags her tail and leans against me.

Well jumping on people is not something I allowed our dog to do when he was smaller as he is going to be a big lad. She is greeting you affectionately and possibly trying to show manners or leaning for reassurance. If you give her lots of praise and treat training as a game, she'll be happy and do her best to please you by doing what you want. You need to get consistent routine and rules in your household which EVERYONE observes so you share the discipline and playtimes. Have fun with her as they grow up really fast!:)

HI Flyguy,

I agree she may just be showing you manners, and other people may be more exciting esp. if they literally play with the dog each and every time. It doesn't mean she loves them best, just that they excite her! ;)

If you are nice to be with and training is enjoyable for your dog, i am sure you have nothing to worry about.

Flyguy is this the puppy Lab that your room mate took for a long run? if it is i hope that she is okay and growing well you still must be careful with her make the other people do as you do and not to over excite her.

i think thats maybe a better thing than you think! if you look at it from the perspective of a pack of animals, then he is seeing the other housemates as playmates = on his level and you are to be respected and shown some respect

yes, same puppy. The limping lasted for about 2 or 3 days, and I had a vet appointment later in the week. So I just waited. The vet checked her out and there was no limit in range of motion, and no pain or irritation, so he said she was fine. = ) Very happy about that.

he just said to wait until 6 months old, when she's fully grown, before doing that again.

fully grown at 6 months? think you need to change vets!
