Hi, I have posted about my dobie before. I am after some information please. I am unsure of his breeding background, so not sure of parents. I had him castrated last Tuesday and they weighed him in at 32.5kg, his is now 9 months old and 29.5 inches at withers. My question is......is he the right height and weight for a dobe? Also feeding....he is always hungry!!!! I feed him on a dry complete food, he has 3 pint glasses in the morning and 2 at night....is this ok???...and what ever he can steal through the day!!.....he is wormed regulary too.

hi im also a first time dobe owner and mine is a bitch of seventeen months who is 25 and a half inches at her wither (which is an ideal hight according to the breed standard) but she looks small in the show ring compared to the others, The breed standard says dogs should be 27 inches and "considerable deviation from this ideal is undesirable."

As to weight my dobe is 30Kg but she is looking a bit fat rather than fit at the moment but she gets 1 mug of dry feed a day and half a tin, but i have started to mix veg in to her food to fill her up! and i am starting to wean her off the tinned food and on to raw.
