Topic Dog Boards / Showing / What Treats To Use?

Hi everyone,

I have a 20 week old Boxer puppy who I'm going to be showing. We have been going to ringcraft for about 5 weeks now and I have tried a few different thiings to use as rewards for standing. I have tried home-made liver cake (which i didn't like because I made a mess with it and couldnt get Lolly's head up), liver and chicken treats from asda (which Lolly wasn't that interested in) and at the moment am using Winalot Allsorts which seem to be a little better. They are certainly smelly enough!

I just wondered what everyone else uses? None of the things I have tried are good enough to take her mind off of the dog in front so I'm still looking for new things.

Sausage slices? Either ordinary or hotdog sausages are usually popular. Or pieces of cheese?
:)

We use either
1/ cooked liver-boil then harden off in the oven
2/ slices of sausage
3/ small pieces of cooked chicken.
I've never found any doggy treats tasty or smelly enough.

I'll go with JG on this. Cold sausage or smelly cheese. Beef jerky is good also. You can get it at Wilcos.

Garlic sausage ? Gus usually likes the smellier treats / Just tried the Allsorts ( and they are smelly) ;) . He also likes the Schmackos cut up .

Believe it or not, Spam is quite popular - only tiny bits as I'm sure it can't be good for them.
