Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / What is BARF?

Please excuse my ignorance, but I keep seeing this product (?) mentioned and it has glowing reports and was wondering if it may be suitable for my Staffie bitch? She has a very sensitive stomach and can only tolerate Chappie - if she's fed anything else it results in a very upset tummy.

She also has 6 puppies (6 wks old) and we're keeping one so would be interested in people's opinions on feeding very young pups on this also. The pups are currently on Proplan Purina Puppy and love it!

Hi,
BARF stands for "Bones And Raw Food" or "Biologically Appropriate Raw Food" - basically no commercial dog food, more what canines eat in the wild (within reason!)

Yep,raw meat, raw vegies. dogs tummies werent designed for commercial/processed foods. My dogs reeeefuuse to eat raw:( i have heard so many good things about barf feeding, dogs fed this way seem to be the picture of health.
Do a search on B.A.R.F there are stacks of message boards dedicated to this subject. i havnt given up on my dogs yet,i will keep trying to introduce it to them,i will win in the end,LOL!
