Hi,
I have a one year old working cocker (his birthday today), he was given to us after 2 homes couldn't cope with him, they claimed he had behavioural problems but he is just a crazy spaniel, fits right in with my springers. The original owners paid £450 for him, but obviously had no idea what they were letting themselves in for. When I got him I couldn't find much info except for this website http://www.briarquest.co.uk/ check out the frequently asked questions section and that should answer your questions.
On a positive note, they are really keen and enthusiastic when it comes to training, mine is like a sponge but you have to keep them stimulated.
Hope this website helps you out
