Got Dr Fogle's Owners Manual out of the Library for the bits on dog first aid and idly leafing through breed guides found Pointer - affectionate, biddable and easy to train ...a touch sensitive and dignified with a tendency to take life too seriously. Shuddering at MOnday nights disaster at obedience, I look fondly up from book to see my dignified and serious companion has found his pal from next door and is nosing at her teats......this is the day he slid down Corstorphine Hill on his bum after trying to brake on a sharp turn back to mum. I'm off to lie down in a dark room.:)

You're in good company ! Our dog has gone 'self employed' when it comes to obedience and training at the moment - having made such good progress - should have know it was too good to be true!!

Yesterday he apprehended two highly dangerous socks , and decided to teach them a lesson. He also 'surfed' the kitchen worktop for food whilst I was in the middle of cooking dinner , and the telephone rang - he would have had the lamb chops if I hadn't become suspicious of the silence ( you know that feeling ?). He seems unable to sit on his 'bed' when told - I have checked and there is no ejector seat hidden within the bed , though you would be forgiven for believing so at the moment.
I'm starting to think aliens stole my dog!!!

Unfortunatley back on planet earth the reality of dealing with 'mr teen' dog are becoming trying - 'aloof and dignified' the book says - wouldn't quite describe running around with half eaten pants on your head ,and shoving them in 'mum' and 'dads' face quite that .

Oh boy! Blaze and Morse must be watching Jackass behind our backs and passing it on - thought the computer was warm this morning. Love the self employed training bit. Yes Dill I do believe Dr Fogle is the worlds No2 expert on pointers, No 1 being the lady who speculates on his lack of pedigree every day. Ha! the nice lady who breeds Afghans reckons he's a real pointer just on the thin side and she gave me some tips on feeding him up today.:)
