I have a 5 year old male English Springer, the last two years his eyes are starting to deteriote. The vet claims it is calsiification and gives me eye drops when they seem to swell or become irritated. Is there anything else that can be done for him?
Is this common for this breed?

I agree with Briedog, go to a specialist, you can ask to be referred to the nearest Veterinary College specialist, or attend an organised session such as the one I run in Haddenham, Bucks. If you are near me, you might find it useful to come along. Otherwise, buy the dog papers Dog World or Our Dogs, they have a list towards the back of the paper which will give you details of where to find the sessions. My next testing session is October 7th.
