has anyone had a case of cat mite in their dog we live in spain and after numerous visits to the vet with messy ears that wouldn't clear up and infections in them they now think it is a case of ear mites and the hot weather causing a massive breeding of them plus the many stray cats These things migrate very quickly to other animals- to they tell me - What if any is the regular treatment for this and does anyone use stronghold for such things?

HI, Stronghold for cats will clear ear mites in cats but the dog Stronghold doesn't, but it does worm for roundworms. Thornit powder is what most of us use for ear mites/waxy ears. It also very good for rubbing into inner ear hair of coated breeds for easier plucking. You can get it from www.championpetsonline.co.uk They do export, so no probs there. Its very effective and inexpensive and a once the probelm is cleared up a small pinch in every ear once a week should keep them clear of ear mites.

my pup went for her booster this week , we asked for some more ear drops like she had the time b4 , cockers are well know for bad ears so we knew what was wrong. all the vet said was is she shaking her head , we said yes she passed them over £34 Just for us telling her what was wrong the ear drops themselves came to £5 what a rip off! vets must be worth a fortune i just feel sorry for the old people who get taken on by them.
