Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Any Advice for US to UK Bulldog transit?

I am trying to bring my English Bulldog into the UK from the US. I have found that most airlines will not carry English Bullogs as they are snub-nosed and on a restricted breed list. At present, I am considering bringing her over on either the QE2 or the QM2. However, the next sailing is not until next May for the QM2 - the October sailing of the QE2 is booked. Does anyone know of a safe and reliable mode of transit by which I can bring my dog over the the UK. She has had all the necessary shots and tests to avoid going into quarantine. I miss her terribly and would love any advice or help. My direct email is bort_dj@yahoo.com. Thank you for your assistance. David

Hi David, I thought it was only British Airways who had athe embargo on short nosed breeds - this follows the death of a French Bulldog last year, carried by Quantas (A BA "Partner" airline) when it was offloaded in Singapore, en-route to the UK. I know a couple of the USA airlines had a stop on flying Pitbulls (and a couple of other breeds), this was to do with an agression problem with 1 dog. Have you made it clear that he it not one of these proscribed breeds? I have found both American Airlines and Delta very helpful. I know that Virgin are keen to build on the dog transport market, but currently only fly out of LA.
bye
Gwen
