One/more of my thirteen day old puppies seems to have passed yellowy liquid resembling diarrhoea while asleep. I'm not sure which one as they were sleeping in a heap and they've all got a little bithere and there but the little one seems to have the most. It's literally just happenend in the last ten minutes, I've consulted tne Book of the Bitch but that doesn't mention anything such as that so I'm stating to panic a little. Anyone any ideas?

Keep an eye on them and see if they sleep soundly, with the odd twitch. If they sleep well and feed well, and act normally when they are awake then theres nothing much to worry about as it just could be the bitch is feeding them really well and they can get a bit loose when there is nothing actually wrong. If one looks at all off colour - take them all straight to the vet. You could take their temperatures, any puppy over 102 should be kept an eye on and if its up to 102.5 -103 then the vet is essential. Hopefully its nothing, but if there is so much of it that they are getting stained then I think you should ring the vet for advice. If you have any doubts ring them anyway. ;-)

Thanks. Rang the vet anyway and he didn't seem unduly concerned. I washed them down and there's not a sign of it now. All feeding and sleeping well. We are still putting the baby on the back teat before the rest so maybe she's just getting too much. Will maybe let her muscle in with the rest a couple of times today.

sometimes just brushing up against a litter mate will act as if the dam was cleaning it and makes it poo!!! ive seen pups go on crawling over litter mates when tiny, must be the feel of rubbing against something,
