Hi, i currently own 3 dogs, two bulldog and a staff. However when i was little we had Cav's, one tri colour and one Ruby and my mother is looking to get a new one. What im curious to know is whether the cost of a Cav nowadays differs with colour because my friend who has all four varities of colour told me her Ruby and Black and Tan (the rairest colours) cost £100 more than her tri and Blenheim. When we got our first Cavs the Ruby was more than the tri but only buy £10 but that was in 1972 so obviously dogs where alot cheaper so i want to know how the costs vary with colour??

Not in my experience they don't but I think maybe in certain areas of the country where there are few breeders of whole colours then the price may be bumped up a little. The average CKCS pup will cost between £300 and £500 regardless of colour again depending on where you live.I know that here in Wales they are about £350 and you can usually expect to pay more for a bitch than a dog.
