Hello

At 7 years old it may be a little to old to start using him at stud.

Why now? if hes gone all these years without being used , why would you suddenly wish to use him ?

I would keep him as you intended , and that is as a pet.

HELEN.

Thanks Helen for your reply, why now you ask probably because he is 7 years old and I would like his 'genes' to continue he has such a lovely tempermant and I would like that to passsed on plus it would be great to have a beardie pup from Bungy.

Hi,

Unfortunately it's not as easy as that!! Bearded Collies should have their hips scored and eyes tested before breeding and no decent breeder should be thinking of using a dog who has not had these tests.

Also you have got to think of the owner of the bitch, you would like 1 puppy, but will she be able to find homes for maybe 11 other puppies?

Personally I would suggest speaking to his breeder and try to get a puppy bred in a very similar way, it's the best option.
