I will shortly be going to live in the Caribbean and want to take a Weimaraner puppy with me.
My home will be on a hillside with ample space around it, approx 1/4 acre. 10 minutes walk from the sea and the rain forest about 3 miles away.
Can anyone help?

If you are in the UK then the best people to get in touch with are the breed clubs (The Weimaraner Club of Great Britain and The Weimaraner Association) whose members must abide by a strict code of ethics eg minimum age of breeding, maximum number of 3 litters per bitch, offer assistance etc etc. Members are also recommended to have their stock hip scored. They have puppy lists available.
If you choose to get your puppy from a breeder who is not a member of either of these clubs you must ask yourself why they are not. There are a number of breeders who breed from unsound stock, do not hip score, breed a bitch at every season and do not have their litters KC registered; a great many of these puppies end up in rescue.
You may find that very few responsible breeders will allow a puppy to be exported however as they are very concerned about their future welfare; many breeders have their progeny registration endorsed "not eligible for export" which means that you cannot register your dog elsewhere. There are also health problems in countries such as the caribbean which do not occur in the UK such as heartworrm, rabies and various other parasites etc.
Perhaps a US breeder may be more applicable as they are more au fait with the geographical region.
