Sweep it might help if you say which cable company it is ..I think that there are several different companies covering large bits of the UK. Unless of course it is SKY that has fallen over?

NTL/Telewest here, we phoned for an engineer to come out as we kept getting Error 3 on our digibox, we were told an engineer would be out for DEFINITE bank holiday monday 11am - 2pm to change our box as it had a fault! First day my hubby has had off for weeks, we waited in!!!!!! No engineer called, no telephone call to apologise or give an explanation. As you can imagine hubby was by now really angry, phoned them first thing Tuesday 26th, all they could say was it was booked and they have now booked him in for September 3rd!!!!!!! Hubby said that wasn't good enough, the telephonist kept saying 'ok September 3rd then' if he could have grabbed her by the throat he would have :-) Hubby asked to speak to somebody in charge, they sent him to another person, they were going to sort it out and ring back................well it's now a week later and still no phone call.............

We can't get sky here if we could I would definitely be changing!

We still have the problem and tonight we are getting hit and miss sound on ITV channel, my husband is now threatening to throw the digibox out into the garden and go back to the old tv ariel!

Sweep, same problems, several (including all Discovery channels) blacked out. Called NTL at 12.30 engineer here at 16.30. He fiddled about for 10 mins, problem sorted. He said it was a loose connection at the back of the telly. B*****ks, checked all connections before calling them, but who cares its fixed!!

We're on Telewest, and in the last few days we have mysteriously started to receive several of the Discovery Channels and some others (which we don't subscribe to). Perhaps we have somehow acquired yours? :D

I rang Ntl yesterday and after going through presss1 ...then press 2 for... there was a recorded message on the Faults Line to say there were problems in the Ashford area(which I'd guess included us)
Full service was finally resumed late afternoon for us but my Son still was not receiving full service by yeaterday night - no rebate though I bet!

were on sky and having the same problem, i would say almost a third of the channels if not more are not showing a picture just a message saying 'no satelite signal being received' so annoying makes you wonder what you pay for. have rang up plenty of times but an hour later its just the same! aaargh! :)

Hi,
I had prob's with my Sky, rang up and they did nothing, so I rang back told them I would switch to NTL if prob not sorted and it was amazing how soon they could do it. I also had money taken off my bill and a credit put on there.
Hope you all get it sorted out.
Lou
