I have found this site which sells Burns holistic dog food, fantastic range,no addatives or colorings etc
they do venison and brown rice, chicken and brown rice, also lamb and brown rice, they are like a mini biscuit and my dog loves it,........today I had delivered some ocean bites, real whiting strips sun dried
they smell very very fishy but my dog go's mad for them which must be good for his coat.
If anyone cannot find the site let me know and I will post it,they supply USA & UK

I have to say that i put my lot on to Burns food 2 years ago for 6 months and had to take them off they always had loose poo's, so now we use Autarky which is an holistic food and of cause tripe green.

Hi jackie - how are you?:)
Murphy is raw fed but has some burns a couple of times a week...he likes it.
It's a good food with good stuff in it.

What is a holistic food? Burns also do an all-organic food now, if that's what you mean by holistic.
My local Pets at Home has just started to carry Autarky, so it must be a popular brand now.

Think all of Burns food is considered holistic. Not too sure why, just know it's very good food.

I put by Bracco on Burns three months ago. The difference in him is tremendous. No flaky skin, no anal gland problems and his behaviour is so much better. I my considering using it for my next litter. I also use Autarky for all my other dogs and they are fine on it. The Bracco lost weight and muscle very quickly on Autarky.

Stacey/Jackie,
I was chatting to one of the Burns chaps at Crufts this year about the ranges as thought as well as the raw I would wean my pups on Burns for people not really wanting to feed raw. He raised a good point as I was quite interested in the Organic product. The Organic has white rice rather than the brown so this then swung me back to the original product with the brown rice. Not sure if any of you have noticed this.

Don't use the organic, have always had the fish or the chicken but have just got the venison and the dogs go potty for it, so although it is a bit more I will keep them on it for a while at least.

Thanks Pam.
Thanks for the information. I am going to the Richmond show this weekend and I hope Burns will have a stand. I am curious where they source the venison.

I lived at one time in a gate house of a small forest that housed Roe deer, there was a good deal of culling and then there is the deer raised for the food trade that must have 'parts that are not palatable to humans and are available to the pet trade. It could be that it is sourced from abroad, let us know what they say, but I don't think anything would put my dogs off.

Good luck at Richmond Stacey,
I was too late with my entry this time. ( Was waiting to see how mature my 2 pups were) got Darlington and Driffield entered though.
Anyway back on topic not sure about Richmond but at Crufts this year the 2KG ( think that is the size of them) was half price which I thought was good.
Good luck.
Pam
