My beagle is now 14 months old and has been to ring craft since she was 6 months old. We have been to quite a few shows over the past few months. Until now her behaviour on the table has been ok, she was always a bit of a fidgit but i suppose that is more acceptable in puppy classes. We took her to a show at the weekend and her behaviour was horrendous. We put her on the table and she started jumping around and wouldn't let the judge touch her. I couldn't believe it.
Does anyone have any tips on table training ? We have a big show coming up in two weeks and i'm so worried as she is now in junior and the dogs seem very well behaved. I use bait while shes on the table as thats the only way she'll do anything. I do training at home and i try to get visitors to go over her on our table so she gets used to different people.
Please help !!!!!!

Is she anywhere near a season ?

I give my dogs Skullcap & Valarian drops to relax mine on the table-they are not nervous but too friendly they stand quietly to be examined rather than fussing the judge(tails still wag though :D)

She had her season a couple of months ago but has a little bit of milk in her teats at the moment. I don't know whether thats got anything to do with it.

Phantom pregnancy ! no wonder she is being awkward on the table

"Try the following Pulsatilla 15C Valuable in reducing the symptoms of phantom pregnancy, but also for gingivitis and other mouth and throat problems.
Suggested Dosage: Give one pill every two hours for first 12 hours, then reduce to one pill four times daily until symptoms reduce."
