Hi

Does anyone have any experience with contraception for dogs? i've got a 3 year old boy and i'm going to get a bitch puppy, and up until last night i was going to have her spayed, and a friend of mine told me that 2 of her bitches she had owned a few years back were on contraception and they both lived til they were 15!

Obviously i dont want to have my bitch cut open if theres a way around it? And the vet advised me to let her have her first season and then have her spayed a few months after that, which also points out the problem, what do i do with my boy while she has her first season?

Any info really appreciated?
