Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / in season....when to start walks
- By pinklilies Date 25.08.03 17:33 UTC
I currently have both of my bitches in their first season. One is on day 25, the other on day 20. So far I have avoided walks, but they are really getting cabin fever. Is it safe to venture out yet(on lead)?

A season lasts for about 3 weeks (21 days) so both are virtually finished. Give it another day or two then wash their trousers to get rid of any scent and it should then be ok. Check to make sure there is no discharge before taking them where other dogs might be but after 3 weeks there really shouldn't be and if there is then I would be starting to get worried.

Regards, John
