Why are there so many types of Bulldog. Dont get me wrong i love British, French and American Bulldogs. Infact i own two frenchies and a british but why are there so many re-creations. The boston bulldogge, the Dorset olde tyme, the catahoula bulldog, the olde english bulldogge, the altman white english bulldogge, the johnson bulldogge plus many more. Why some many types??

each type of bulldog is different to another for a certain reason or not.eg dorset old tyme is a recreation of the bulldog, the cat bulldog is used as a hunting dog same with johnson which is also used for protection and guard (by the way its a type of american bulldog) etc
each 1 has a different purpose.
