Please can anyone tell me if it's ok to use fragrance free baby wipes on our 12 week old pup...her belly gets very dirty in the garden and it's quick & easy to wipe her over with one, as long as there are any contraindications that I haven't thought about. I know you can buy proper doggy wipes but they are very expensive about £4 for 6 wipes in Tesco!!.
Thanks

hi ive used baby wipes on my dogs before never had a problem but depends on how sensitive your dogs skin is.

Hi
I always use sensitive type baby wipes for the dogs...on the assumption that if they're ok for a tiny baby, they should be ok for wiping my dogs!
I also buy the "Doggy Bath Wipes"...they are expensive, but are good for rubbing down my leaky old girl, instead of washing her all the time.

Personally I'd use water and a flannel - even cheaper and guaranteed safe!
Thats what I used on the tribe as babies, so its good enough for Morse.
We have a box near the door for muddy feet and tummies and whatever - also for wiping our own hands when coming in out of the garden if they're dirty. They're fantastic for everything:)
I even use them to get muddy footprints off the carpet!

To me, baby wipes are one of the best inventions of the 21st C
1. they can be used to clean mud off my pup
2. they can be used to clean mud off my clothes
3. they can be used toclean mud off my shoes
4. they can be used to clean mudd off chairs, settees, car seats
... as well as what they are supposed to do!!!
Personally, I keep 1 pack in my desk at work, 1 in the car, another in the grooming box - and another in the cupboard under the sink!!

My mum picked up a packet of "Quick Bath" wipes the other day.
They are micellised for better absorption and produced by International Veterinary Sciences .
They are just thick baby wipes basically made for dogs . Said to be alcohol free ( so shouldnt dry out the coat)and the liquid does not harm should the dog decide to have a munch .
Must admit I havent tried them yet as I too ,was worried about whether they would affect his coat which is nice and shiny at present .

Thank you all for your replies, I too went on the assumption they if they were ok for my baby they would be ok for the dog....Even the sensitive skin ones smell nice (although they are meant to be fragrance free) so it helps with doggy smells.

hi,
i use nivea facial wipes on all my bullies, and none of them seem to have had any problems with these ,they keep their faces clean and they are great for removing dirt on any part of their body , a little more on the expensive side, but im pleased with them and they suit my dogs.

My five year old used to use them too, but apparently you shouldn't flush them as even used one at a time it's very common (i'm told) for them to get snagged and caught up in the drains and cause serious blockages (as we discovered several hundred pounds later!).
The pink johnsons ones are also brilliant for clearing up paint spills when decorating and cleaning oil off the beach from a white coat!

I use Baby wipes and so does my mother in law. But we have found our dogs have smelly feet!! Stopped using them on his feet and he is now fine :)
