How much should I expect to pay for a dog sitter for a cocker puppy for about 3 hours a day? They hopefully wouldn't be involved in house training as i plan to buy a pup during one of the school 2 week holidays..prob easter now as most repuatble breeders won't sell at christmas.

you will be very lucky to complete housetraining in your 2 weeks!

Pinklillies is right - it often takes months before you can say that a puppy is reliably housetrained. Some Cockers get the general idea quite quickly but others take much longer :-) It might be an idea for you to get a good puppy training book like "The Perfect Puppy" by Gwen Bailey well in advance of buying a puppy - it covers all aspects of puppy training & give you a good idea of how much work is involved before you make the commitment.

I think if you read my message properly i asked about dog sitters and not about house training a pup. If I needed to I would employ the dog sitter to carry on with the training I had started

Hi Sarah
I think it depends on what area you live in. I pay my dog sitter/walker £7 per hour and I live in enfield. It really varies and you should investigate your local area. Try asking at the vets and see if they know of anyone you could get in touch with or alternatively maybe kennels in your area might have a list of dog sitters. Failing all those try the internet, you can find a list of dog sitters in your area and take it from there.
Good luck
Pat
