Can anyone help and tell me what are the first signs of pregnancy in a bitch?

The first thing I ever notice , especially maiden bitches is that their teats seem to stick out more and are quite pink. This is at about 3 weeks. The bitch also 'seems different', more loving etc.

i have breeded dogs for quite a while now, you want advice on first signs well the main one to look out for is a big change in bahaviour (ie) wants more attention more love etc, the second one is normally visable after two weeks her breasts will enlarge and breast that arent normally visable near her chest will grow, after about three to four weeks if you know what to feel for you maybee able to do a test your self,

use the palm of your hands and gently feel just past her ribs you may feel golf ball sized lumps,

this was advice given to me by a very good vet/dog breeder
