Topic Dog Boards / Health / HELP - NEED ADVICE ABOUT MY BOXER
- By Sarah H [gb] Date 19.08.03 16:02 UTC
I'm really worried about my Boxer Casey and wondered if anyone had some advice. She has had vaginitus since she was a pup and despite having antibiotics it just wouldn't go. The vets told me to leave it because it would probably clear up on its own after her first season - but it didn't! Then a few weeks ago I went to get her sprayed, but because she still had vaginitus the vets wouldn't do it and instead put her back on even stronger antiboitics. The infection didn't go and last week they decided to spray her any way. While doing the operation they found out that she is slightly anaemic - she has a red blood cell count of 35.

She is recovering from her operation (7 days ago now), but she really isn't eating much at all and just spends most of the day sleeping, which is not like a boxer at all - she is so quiet. Is this normal after her operation or should I be taking her back to the vets. The vets thought the anaemia might be down to her infection and would get better after he op, but I'm not so sure. She is meant to be having her stitches out on Friday, but should I be doing something now. I just feel so sorry for her - she really isn't like herself at all!

I would not be happy with the way she is, take her back to the vet and if you are still not happy ask to be refered.

I would take her back to the vets - he may think you are overfussing but so what ??
As long as she is ok !!
Good luck - hope she is soon well :)
