Hi... I have a 12 week old Cairn I'd like to try the world of showing with when hes old enough so....
I have looked back through nearly a year of posts here and seen requests for local ringcraft over and over again so forgive me while I ask again... I live in Towcester, Northants... not far from Northampton - and fairly close to Milton keynes. I don't mind travelling but thinking of Jack hope to find somewhere not too far away. beds would be ok... can even get to Oxford or Coventry area if I have to. I have looked at the links given in posts... contacted the kennel Club and right now would have to go for standard obedience... breeder is in the SW long way away so couldn't help.
Posted few days ago about 12 YEAR old Cairn [doh ] - with no response... hopefully will have better luck this time.
many thanks, Dave

About 20 years ago (!!!) I used to go to ringcraft at Hardingstone, but I don't know if that still exists. Why not try contacting one of the Northants breeders listed on this site - they would know about local facilities.

Hi Dave
the Kennel Club can info on ringcraft in each area. Also your lcal vets /local paper sometimes has info .
Are you looking for breed secific or mixed classes ?

Hi,
I Live in Daventry and will be attending the ring craft at Roade when it starts in September.
I have heard that they are the best in this area.
I'm sure your local vet will have details of it.

Hi...
Thanks for all the help. To answer couple of questions... I would be happier, happier actually, with a mixed breed group. The Kennel Club sent me the 2 closest... 1 was for GSD's and both around 30 miles away. I dont mind the distance but the time it would take to get there would be excessive for a pup methinks.
Roade is ideal... it's only down the road, thank you for that - and the private mail on Roade I got. It's much appreciated...
One last question... does ringcraft lessons work as a puppy class as well?
Thank you again, and those at Roade in Sept hope to see you there ;). I have the instructors name and will track down his number, anyone know exactly when it starts?

Ringcraft will only tell you how to stand your dog when presenting him to the judge and how to wlak your dog when in the ring . It will also get your dog used to being handled by other people .
It wont teach puppy basics like sit, stay , down etc ec
Hope that helps

I went to Roade when I lived in Towcester as my first ringcraft and they are lovely. You will have a good time as well as learning.
