Hello everyone! I have a question, I found a very good stud for one of my girls, he's great show lines, many champions in his pedigree, a perfect health, no genetic issues, very beautiful, great temperament and he is 3 1/2 years old and proven (4 previous litters..huge lovely litters by the way). But there's a problem, he also needs to "serve" two other bitches more or less at the same time my girl will be in heat. His breeder says he can handle it, that he'll be only doing two matings per girl, but what do you think? Will that be enough? or will the boy be too low of sperm by then? This stud, as well as all the girls, are brucella free and in really good health. Any ideas?

Its a gamble - but it would depend for me, on how well you know/trust the dog owner. In the dim and distant past a dog of mine mated 2 bitches on heat together , one one day, then another the next day, then the first one back again and then the second one back again. So he mated once a day , 4 days running and they both has good sized litters.( 7 and 5 -all live WHWT) This was an exception and he had just "started working " and he was very keen, but I wouldn't have let him have another bitch for at least a week after that . As it happened he didn't have another visiting bitch for some months.

Ok..I do trust his breeder, she's also the breeder of one of my girls, she knows her lines by heart and she certainly knows her dogs! . Thank you very much! I'll let you know what happens!
