My two used to do it and have more or less grown out of it now, although the occaisional one stills slips out when they get really excited. Didn't do anything to stop it unless they got really loud in which case I just yelled Oi! which seemed to break their concentration and then they carried on playing without barking

ive tried yelling they look at me then carry on with it,merlin gets to carried away tho as he is making my smallest bitches neck so sore, ive tried putting him in his crate for a couple of mins so far it seems to be helping a little, but any other suggestions would be greatfully recived.

I'm thinking if they bark when they get excited and you start yelling you are probably encouraging the barking and overall excitement - its like your all barking and all getting excited together!?! By you reacting whether good or bad the dog's are getting a reaction and so continue barking - its all good fun for them. Maybe stop play and ignore them when the barking STARTS this way maybe the dog's will associate barking with play stopping - which is not the desired effect for them so in turn and in theory the barking MAY stop...Who knows??
